Ashford Women's Basketball Camps
Head Coach Amy Eagan
Eagan, originally a native of Shelbina, Mo., will begin her second season at the helm of the Ashford University women's basketball program this year, continuing a new era since she accepted the position in April of 2010.
In 2010-11, Eagan guided the Saints through a challenging non-conference schedule along with the usual rigors of league competition and coached senior guard Jordan Davis to All-Midwest Collegiate Conference honors as Ashford collected a handful of wins in her debut on the sidelines.
Eagan most recently served previously as a head coach for MCC counterpart St. Ambrose University, leading the Queen Bees' women's basketball program to an NAIA National Tournament appearance and 47-18 record in just a two-year span. She was named the MCC Coach of the Year in 2007 and guided SAU to a league championship and runner-up finish during her tenure in Davenport.
Eagan was the top assistant coach at Quincy University (Ill.) and helped the program emerge into the national spotlight, turning its fortunes into a Div. II powerhouse. The Quincy program was the first in school history to make to the NCAA Div. II Tournament with a pair of "Sweet 16" appearances and an "Elite Eight" berth.
Eagan contributed to the Lady Hawks' stellar 96-32 overall record in a short duration while at Quincy. The Lady Hawks also won back-to-back Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles.
After her playing career at the collegiate level, Eagan went overseas to play as a professional in Asker, Norway, while also coaching the Junior National Team for the Asker women's basketball club.
Eagan was a standout player on the hardcourt as an All-American point guard at the college level at Div. III Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. She also compiled a long list of accolades at South Shelby High School, where she was named to the Missouri Class 2A All-State Team.
A graduate from Truman State in May of 2001, she obtained her bachelor's of science degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Health Education. One of four other siblings, Eagan currently resides in Clinton.
